It's Fall Baby!

Steve and I are back from a long break and talking about our favorite subject. Beer! Specifically, Oktoberfest beer. This is the month of Oktoberfest so if you have not already done so, go out and pick up some Sam Adams "Octoberfest" or some other type. You can check out the beers Steve and I like here.

Because I said I would show everyone, here is a picture of me from the beach. Yes, I did wear this in public. It really looks better when Mike (on the far left) wore his. Oh well. Sadly I tossed the shirt into the dryer and it shrank to the size of a face cloth.

The opening song was Jack Black's "School of Rock" in appreciation of Steve heading back to school for another nine month tour of duty. The closing song was K. C. & the Sunshine Band's "Shake Your Booty" in tribute to my happy hour at the Piratz Tavern earlier today. You can check out the pictures from my pirate night at my Flickr page.

Beer, Whiskey and Mustaches. Oh My!

Mustache March is underway and both Steve and I are both doing our best to represent. Check out our progress here. Steve still needs some work but he's working on it. I had to trim mine down for a business meeting but I still am happy with it. It's no friendly mutton chops but it will do. I might be able to sport handle bars by the end of the month but time will only tell.

We updated our beer log and Flickr group after a night out this weekend. Too much fun!

For the past twelve years or so my go to drink has always been beer. But there are so many calories and sometimes you want to have a second choice. I love White Russians (thanks to The Dude in The Big Lebowski) but I have been asked on more than one occasion if it was for my date. (ouch!) So Steve and I are looking for a manly drink. We are going to try out a bunch of different liquors from those cute little travel sized bottles on the next DAP. Scotch, whiskey, rum and brandy to name a few. We will record the whole thing. Look for that in a couple of weeks.

Check out the 17 worst shots ever created. Like #15 the bloody tampon. Yuck!

OK, so Steve will be on vacation for the next week so look for a new DAP around the end of March. See you then. Might see two of you. And a pink elephant.

Chappy Channukah!

In today's show we talk about Thanksgiving, Channukah and bad high school pictures. Check out the beefcake on the left. What a winner. Not that I can really judge. Here's a link to a picture of me when I was a senior back in 1992. Scary. The 5 worst senior pics can be found here, though I didn't really see anything wrong with one of them.

Steve reminds us that December 5th is Repeal Day. Check out this site and you will learn more about this important day in American history that has allowed Steve and I to continue updating our beer log among other things.

The music on todays show was an eclectic mix. The opening song is #3 on the Beerfest soundtrack,
"Chug Chug Chug A Lug" by The Meters. The Ramones Rock n Roll High School is a personal favorite and the closing song by the Proclaimers is getting me excited about my vacation to the UK next week. Should I survive my trip to Scotland and Steve survive his finals, we will put out a new show before Christmas. I will update my Flickr account while abroad if you care about seeing someone else's vacation photos. I'll try to keep track of all the exotic beers I swill in the old world.

Where the Hell have we been?

Steve and I are back for another show and we talk about where the hell we've been for the past two weeks. I for one have been busy drinking and driving around Southern Virginia. (Not at the same time mind you) You can check out some photos of my trip by clicking on the DAP logo or clicking here.

The album art on tonight's show is from my Day of the Dead party I went to in Baltimore earlier this month. Good fun! Check out the photos here especially if you like your zombies cooked well done.

Although we have not posted any articles or videos in the last couple of weeks, Steve and I (mostly Steve) have been updating our beer spreadsheet on Google. Check out the new beers we tried recently. Avoid the Dominion Millenium unless you like your beers chewy.

Next week Steve and I will talk about the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend and how we go about taking advantage of the busy black Friday by using the internet.

Talk to you then!

Another Beer Show

OK, I think we had a beer show a few months ago but this one is entirely different. We talk about beer we are drinking NOW. OK, that settled, Steve and I started a new Flickr group called "Beers the Dead Air Podcast (and friends) Drink." Here we will put pictures of our beer drinking shenanigans and the like. Good fun.

Click on the Harvest Moon to see all the pictures!

In addition to our new Flickr album we have a Google spreadsheet on the beers we drink. We are starting it in October and will continue until, well, until we get tired of it. You can find the Spreadsheet here.

Can you see the secret beer stash in this picture? I tried miserably to explain how this guy hides his beer at work. Well, the article is here with the pictures.

The music on today's show has one theme. Beer. But the music could not be more diverse. The opening song was from the great Willie Nelson and his "I Gotta Get Drunk." The song in the middle of the show was truly terrible. Paranoid Social Club's Wasted. The final song is an oldie but a goody. I think it was recored sometime in the 30s. Andrew Sister's Beer Barrel Polka (Roll Out The Barrel)

The audio at the beginning of the show is from the great Senator Ted Stevens from Alaska. The scary thing is, that man makes laws that deal with technology. Scary.

The Alcohol and Bears Show!

Steve and I could not meet together for tonight's podcast...or did we?!? Listen and find out! Steve brings to us a story from Digg about the five stages of intoxication. Click on the digger on the right for more interesting stories DAP is looking at.

For my half of the podcast, I once again invite my friend Brooke to help out with not only talking about the story of a Bosnian who wanted to get jiggy with a bear, but also brining me beer. Actually, she just gave me her beer because it "tasted like ass." Shiner Hefeweizen was not the best hefe I ever had but it was way better than ass. Enjoy the bear story, I know we did. And remember, don't feed the bears and don't try to F them either. "Look at the bones!"

The 25 Most Ridiculous Band Names in Rock History

Today's show starts with #24 of the 25 most ridiculous named bands, Nickleback and their hit "photograph." Please buy their CD or MP3 at you local online retailer. (Don't sue us)

We apologize to our dozens of fans who pointed out that our British show had little or no British content. Well, we forgot. So we start the show going over some cool British slang. I think you will agree with me that we instinctively forgot the article for a reason. It was stupid.

Next up I talk about why you shouldn't drink and ebay at the same time. Not a good idea. I bought a weird item that only a Revolutionary reenactor would love. I thought about this when I popped open a Rogue Mocha Porter. It was OK.
It must not be too bad because I am drinking another one as I write this.

We close the podcast with the #6 most ridiculous named band Hoobastank and their hit "The Reason." Now, I say on the podcast that I will play something from Limp Bizkit but while editing this show I hear the songs more than a few times. I will not listen to Limp Bizkit that many times and I don't think you should even listen to it once. Check out the videos of both songs below. (And again, please don't sue us.)

Mentos in Beer? Bad Idea.

We have all seen the mentos and diet cola videos (if not click here) but what about beer? Check it out.
