Dead Air Podcast Summer Blockbuster Preview
Steve and I go over six summer movies this week and talk about what we think about them. Why would you care what we think? I have no idea. Steve also gives me hell for watching Iron Man with out him. About 1 mile away from his house. Oops.
Enjoy the show and the trailers below.
Indiana Jones
It wouldn't be a summer movie preview with out Dr. Jones! Steve and I are sure that the movie will do well, but is this just a money grab?
The Happening
What's Happening the movie? No, this is not another 70s television show turned into a movie like the Awesome Starsky and Hutch (do it!) It's the new creepy movie from M. Night Shamalamadingdong. Basic idea of the movie? Something is killing pretty much everyone and seems to have the ability to chase people. And if you were a sentient ball of invisible death, wouldn't you go after Marky Mark Wahlberg?
The Love Guru
What looks like a character from an Austin Powers movie that was left on the cutting room floor, "The Love Guru" truly looks like a turd. Is it worth even the $4 to rent it? I don't know. I'll have to see the reviews but I think I might wait for it on Netflix.
Batman: The Dark Knight
Batman is awesome. One of the last movies that Heath Ledger made before his death. Should be fantastic and be one of the top 3 box office hits of the summer. Unfortunately, with a PG-13 rating (for "intense sequences of violence and some menace"), this likely will be the first movie Maggie Gyllenhaal doesn't get naked in.
Step Brothers
Will Ferrell. Done. We're there. Even better, it's not a sports movie.
Tropic Thunder
This might be a dark horse comedy like Something About Mary was. Or it might struggle to make $30 million before it goes to DVD. Who knows. I love the trailer.
