Another Beer Show

OK, I think we had a beer show a few months ago but this one is entirely different. We talk about beer we are drinking NOW. OK, that settled, Steve and I started a new Flickr group called "Beers the Dead Air Podcast (and friends) Drink." Here we will put pictures of our beer drinking shenanigans and the like. Good fun.

Click on the Harvest Moon to see all the pictures!

In addition to our new Flickr album we have a Google spreadsheet on the beers we drink. We are starting it in October and will continue until, well, until we get tired of it. You can find the Spreadsheet here.

Can you see the secret beer stash in this picture? I tried miserably to explain how this guy hides his beer at work. Well, the article is here with the pictures.

The music on today's show has one theme. Beer. But the music could not be more diverse. The opening song was from the great Willie Nelson and his "I Gotta Get Drunk." The song in the middle of the show was truly terrible. Paranoid Social Club's Wasted. The final song is an oldie but a goody. I think it was recored sometime in the 30s. Andrew Sister's Beer Barrel Polka (Roll Out The Barrel)

The audio at the beginning of the show is from the great Senator Ted Stevens from Alaska. The scary thing is, that man makes laws that deal with technology. Scary.

How do you know when you are an Adult?

Steve and I talk about the great list 25 signs you have grown up. Funny stuff. My personal favorite, "“I just can’t drink the way I used to” replaces “I’m never going to drink that much again.” I think that Steve and I say that in the show and I wasn't even thinking about it. HA!

The music on this week's show started with Garbage's When I Grow Up 1998 killer album Version 2.0
I love that CD. One of the few I can listen to from start to finish. Another favorite is the closing song, "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" by Mr. Waylon Jennings and Mr. Willie Nelson. You can find that song on a lot of different CDs but I like Waylon's Greatest Hits myself.

Yes, they're talking to you

I love this article. Mind your cell phone manners should be taught in grade school so that kids won't develop bad mobile habits and hopefully I'll sit in fewer movie theaters where people's phones go off.

From the article:

I don't pay $10 to hear your cell phone ring during a movie so turn it off. But if you absolutely have to keep your phone on, please turn it on vibrate. And please don't start talking until after you've left the theater. It's just being polite. The same goes for weddings, funerals, and other milestone events. Every time I went to my college's graduation, they'd ask people to turn off their phones before the ceremony. And every time, someone's phone would ring and they'd slink out of the building. Remember that when they ask you to turn off your phone, they're talking to you.

Spread the word and forward this article to all who you think would benefit for it's wisdom.

Bring Out Your Dead!

Cheers from Dead Air Podcast!

Steve and I talk about what we have been up to in the past two weeks. I had a lot of fun drinking blueberry beer and hanging out in Portland, ME. Steve went to the renaissance festival and drank mead while eating deep fried hard boiled eggs. What? Check out the album art on the podcast or check out our Dead Air Podcast Flickr group here.

Music on this week's show is mainly from the 1980s. If you liked what you heard, check out the mp3 on Amazon.com where you can buy music without DRM. I don't make any money off this but it's good karma to at the very least provide a chance for someone to get music legally. I am buying all my mp3s now on Amazon. I love the lack of DRM and some of the songs are only .89. Nice. (I should mention that I only buys songs once in a blue moon though I might start doing it more often now.) [I should also mention that two of the four big music labels don't yet sell their music on Amazon.com MP3 and Van Halen and Metalica both are not available though you can buy the CD.]

Settle Down, You Impatient Bastards!

First there was the release of Harry Potter 7, then people lined up to wait for the iPhone, now, the 3rd part of the trilogy of "things anxiously awaited" has come to bear. The latest DAP podcast is now available for you to enjoy! Michael and I discuss, among other things, the exciting world of fantasy football.

Is the sound quality crap? You bet it is! But the songs are awesome! And, don't miss the triumphant return of Chris's Totally Tasteless Jokes!
